Exciting news for Trinity's Trinkets

As some of you may have noticed, the Etsy shop is empty!  Why is this?  Well I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is; my cases will no longer be available through Etsy.

The good news is they have been picked up to sell EXCLUSIVLY at The Knitting Boutique in Glen Burnie, MD.

Don't live in MD?  It's OK the cases will still be available through The Knitting Boutiques website.  I am currently working with some new STUNNING fabrics that will be hitting the shop soon.  But there are a few of our classic cases already available on their website!  This is such exciting news for me.  I have had much success with Etsy and am so excited to have my cases being sold in a fabulous retail store where they will get a lot of exposure.

The new Trinity's Trinkets studio!

She is not 100% finished, but I could just not wait any longer!  I had to share the pictures of our new studio.  Although not done on purpose, she is Tiffany blue!  It is here that all the creations to come will be designed and created.  I am so in love with the space.  The colorful walls give me energy and yet a calming feeling all at once.
I love the big windows in this room.  I can't wait till it is nice out so I can open them and enjoy the breeze.

The built in bookcase is great for all my knitting books.  These shelves will soon be filled to the max when my quilting books currently on loan come back!

New storage allows me to see all my lovely fabrics and yarns.

My new desk will be so much easier to work on.

New year, new house and new baby!

I know it has been a while since I have been in touch.  We have had a lot going these past few months.  Our biggest change is a move!  We moved from our little cabin in the woods into a stunning 1920 Colonial.  On top of that, we found out we are pregnant with our second child!  So much good stuff but no time to create.  Well, we are in the new house now and construction is underway on our new studio.
It's not much to look at right now, but with lots of light coming in it has a lot of potential!  I have a new desk coming this weekend and hutches to store all our lovely fabrics in.  I still need to decide on a color for the room...

With the new studio so many new things are going to come!  I have a large set of goals for our shop this year which include some possible vending ideas and better communication.  We have lots of ways for you to keep up to date on what is going on here at our studios.  Here are just a few places to find us:

In case you did not see our announcement.  We are having a 25% off sale to make room for new stuff.  Use the coupon code NY2014 at checkout for your discount.  This applies to in-stock items only.

I have a feeling it is going to be a good year for us.  Be sure to check the above places for updates and exclusive deals for our followers.  A little late but....

Made to Order!

We have been rather busy here at the Trinity's Trinkets Studio!  We are now offering some of our cases on a "Made to Order" basis.  These cases are all fabrics that I have in stock and can be made at any time.  By doing this, we will have more time to focus on new designs and custom cases for clients.  While I am pretty fast to turn most items around, I do ask to allow 2-3 weeks shipping time.  I can only work when Aiden allows me ;-).  So please be sure to check the details of your listing to see if it is a ready to ship or made to order.  Here are just some of the cases we are offering as made to order.

Featured Artist: Whimsical Monkey

o Tell us a little about yourself
I am a wife and mom to an 8 year old little girl and 2 year old little boy. My husband is a cyclist and works as a bicycle mechanic in a bicycle shop. We live in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. I started on my home business adventure 8 years ago with henna body art. I grew from doing parties and festivals to contracts with entertainment companies. Last Christmas, I decided to hand make all of my gifts. I made jewelry for all of the women in my family and they absolutely loved it, so I reopened my Etsy shop in February and it has taken off.

o Where does your inspiration come from?
My friends! I have some amazingly talented friends who are photographers, models, body painters, makeup artists, performance artists, painters, sculptors, etc. Also, where I live. I live in a beautiful area and can see the mountains by just looking out of my window.

o Who has influenced you the most in your creations?

Wire artists such as Nurrgula, Twisted Sister Arts, Lirimaer, Cook on Strike, and Nix Creations.

o How would you describe your creative process?

Sometimes I will pick a color scheme and it will determine how my piece comes together. Other times I will see a shape, make the shape in wire,   and then build around that shape.

o How do you get out of creative ruts?

By visiting the local bead shops. There is one I go to regularly where the owner has traveled around the world and brought back several kinds of stone beads and metal components. Each piece I have found in there seems to have its own personality and I know just what to do with it.

o What advice would you give to aspiring artists?

Don't give up! There is a whole world of supportive artists, groups, youtube videos, tutorials, books, blogs, and websites out there to help you on your path. I don't think I would be where I am at today without them. Never stop learning! Jewelry has this snowball effect. Once you learn one technique, you can apply it to several styles of jewelry and sometimes learn another new technique in the process and it builds on itself.

Pay it forward

The proceeds from the recent sale of the hand spun Great Pyreness yarn was donated to a local animal shelter.

Here is another hand spun and plied on drop spindle. The dyer of this fiber gave the proceeds of this colorway to HIV/AIDS research. So to pay it forward, I'm giving all the money from this skein to Moveable Feast which helps provide meals to those sick with HIV/AIDS.

Make a donation today by purchasing this stunning skein of yarn and help make a difference in someones life.

Fall is upon us and winter is around the corner.  Time to work on those warm winter knits.  Looking for something different to knit this winter?  Have you ever knit with hand spun?  NO?!  You are missing out!  Hand spun is a fun and unique knit.  I have had the pleasure of knitting my own hand spun yarns and was extremely pleased with the final result.  Below is my favorite knit with my hand spun.  The pattern is the Herringbone Neck Warmer.   This is a free pattern.  I have made several of these they make fantastic gifts for both men and women.

Want to try knitting with hand spun?  Stop in the shop today to pick up one of our yummy skeins of hand spun yarns from Ewe and Yoors!  Here are some of our favorites for fall.
